I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I’ve broken
But I swear in the days still left
Well walk in the fields of gold
Sting, “Fields of Gold”
I originally thought this book was about building software but I've
come to realise over the last couple of years that, more than anything,
it's about building trust by making promises that matter, then keeping
them.

I've just finished another 8 chapters, or 13.5K words of Rolling Rocks Dowhill, bringing the total to 112,000 words. Something I'm suddenly feeling very proud of. Thanks for all the kind feedback you've been sending me - you've no idea how much it means to me. Writing this stuff is hard work and it takes a huge amount of my time - I would have given up already if it weren't for the feedback. So thanks!
I've not been as thorough with the editing off the latest chapters because I can see the finish line now and I desperately want to finish this draft so that I can start my rewrite.
In this Steve learns more about the loop. He learns more about trust. About marketing. About a fantastic little tool called the net promoter score. Oh, and he comes up with a rather cunning plan, which means that the book eventually ends in a completely different way to what I expected. And what about Mark's little secret?
Email me at RollingRocksDownhill@Gmail.com
and I'll send you a link to the latest pdf. Now that I can clearly see
the finish line, I've decided that I will no longer publish the latest
drafts on line. Why? Because the anxious author wants to know how many
people are interested in reading his book. If only 3 people reply ...
then I may just give up :) That's all. I won't spam you, but I will
send you updates of the book as I release them. I'll continue to
announce updates via this blog, but you'll have to be on the mailing
list to receive the pdfs as I publish them.
